0.25–0.5 lb for each 100 lb of body weight

With good-quality free-choice hay or pasture.

How long a 50 lb bag lasts

13 days

50 lb ÷ 3.75 lb a day ≈ 13.33 days, rounded down to the half day: 13

For one horse, at the middle of the published range. Actual duration depends on measured intake and waste.

Eqceed 12 directions: Divide the total lbs. of feed required into 2 or more feedings per day and maintain a regular feeding program. Do not feed more than 0.5% of body weight at one feeding.

2What you feed

Weigh feed in pounds; scoop sizes vary. Always provide fresh water and follow the current bag tag.

How this is calculated

These calculations apply the published directions and do not assess the whole ration. A range given per 100 lb of body weight is multiplied by your horse’s weight ÷ 100; a fixed daily range is not. Bag duration is the bag weight divided by the daily amount. Pounds are shown to the quarter pound (to the hundredth below a pound), with a range rounded inward so it never leaves the published directions; days are shown to the half day, rounded down.
